Deadmau5 ~ Sofi Needs A Ladder Feat. Sofi

TGIF everyone! The Ides of March is now behind us by a day, so time for me to venture forth with a new blog post.

In regards to watching live acts, I prefer smaller venues to see life shows these days; two thousand people max if possible. Ideal venue sizes are in the five hundred to thousand people range such that one can get up close to the band, singer or DJ if they like, but still have enough people in the venue to give the live act the right amount of energy. That being said I’ve attached a YouTube video of Deadmau5 performing live at the Roskilde Music Festival last Summer, “Sofi Needs a Ladder”, featuring Sofi on the vocals of course! The venue used at the Roskilde Festival is rather large so Deadmau5 is far to removed from the audience in my view.

According to the Roskilde web site “Roskilde Festival is the largest North European culture and music festival and has existed since 1971. they are a non-profit organization consisting of about 25 full-time employees and thousands of volunteers. Each year, The Roskilde Festival Charity Society, which is the association behind Roskilde Festival, ensures that the profits from the festival are donated directly to humanitarian and cultural purposes.” Here is a link to the Roskilde web site: Roskilde Music Festival.

Given that so many people are not buying music anymore, I guess I can understand why performers are playing bigger and bigger live venues if they have the draw capacity. The positive cash flow for professional performers these days is from touring not in the selling of their music. In any event, this is a live recording of Sofi Needs a Ladder (I hope it’s not lip synced) and Ms. Sofi of course adds her visual charms and vocal talents to the live performance too by Deadmau5! The crowd is into it, it’s a great song and the energy is up beat! Enjoy!
